OUR VISION

At Halcyon Performing Arts, we are committed to creating a safe, welcoming environment where creativity meets technique and passion fuels performance. Established in 2018, our mission is to inspire and nurture a lifelong love for the performing arts while empowering students of all ages. We believe in equality for all, celebrating diversity, and fostering a supportive space where every student can explore and thrive in their artistic journey.

We provide specialised training in acting, musical theatre, and dance for students aged 2 and upwards. With a focus on small class sizes and highly skilled teachers, we ensure that each student receives tailored instruction suited to their individual needs. Our approach encourages creativity, builds confidence, and develops skills that will last a lifetime.

At Halcyon, we are dedicated to developing students vocally, socially, and morally, helping them grow into cooperative, responsible, and creative individuals. We aim to cultivate not just artistic talent but also empathy and community spirit, making a positive contribution to both our local community and the wider world.

Meet the Team

Principal Director

Rachel Hammerton

Rachel is the Principal Director of Halcyon Performing Arts. She began her training at Pat Eaket’s School of Dance and Drama, where she spent 15 years developing her skills across various art forms. After gaining teaching qualifications in classical ballet and tap, Rachel went on to earn a first-class degree in Education. Driven by her passion for the arts, she founded Halcyon to bring comprehensive performing arts training to her hometown, where her students consistently achieve a 100% pass rate and a 94% distinction rate in all LAMDA exams, alongside their achievements on the stage and in the community.

Class Teacher

Lula Chinery

Lula is a class teacher at Halcyon Performing Arts with 10 years of experience in the performing arts. She has achieved distinction in all her LAMDA exams up to Grade 8, earning a prestigious Gold Medal. Lula has spent 3 years teaching Early Years and primary-aged children, specialising in inclusive teaching practices and British Sign Language (BSL). Her passion for making the arts accessible to all students is at the heart of her teaching, and she is committed to creating an inclusive, engaging environment where every child can thrive.
